hello & thank you for viewing my thread. i was curious how many ladies out there have tried or are currently using paraguard & have had success or failures with the iud? i am scheduled to have mine inserted within the next week & after reading some horror stories, i am wondering if i made a mistake . . . i am 20 yrs old & have never been pregnant. i have been on 4 different birth control pills within the last 3 yrs & have experienced nothing but grief. the only pill i had some success with was ortho tri cyclen lo, but around the time i was prescribed it from the local planned parenthood (my last OB had moved out of state, so PP was my temporary relief while searching for a new doctor), i had severe pain in my abdomen & irregular periods, & to my suprise, as well as the lack of knowledge from the RN at the clinic, i later discovered i had an ovarian cyst, which i do not believe had any relation to the pill, & was switched to a higher dose birth control, which was also a failure. although i used each brand continuously for 6 months at a time, i continued to have side effects which lead me to believe the pill may not be a good option for me bc of the artifical hormones, as well as my forgetfulness in remembering to take it every day, so i opted for the paraguard as a long - term birth control method. my OB GYN warned me that i may experience some pain with insertion since my cervix has not been softened due to my lack of reproduction, but i am still wondering if there will be worse side effects i am unaware of . . . any help you could give me in making this decision would be greatly appreciated.
20 years young, 5'9, 220 pounds & a size 16 . . . hoping to reach my long - term goal weight of 145 pounds.
feel free to msg me with any tips or tricks you may have tried & succeeded at. thnks

What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are but how you deal with incompatibility. - Leo Tolstoy
The clearest explanation for failure of any marriage is that two people are incompatible; that is, one is male and the other female. - Anna Quindlen
