Thread: Marvelon birthcontrol

Okay so I am on Marvelon and I was on it before a couple years ago. When I was on it a couple years ago, my period maybe last 10 minutes when I was on the sugar pills. So when I started taking them again a couple months ago, I thought the bleeding would be the same, the first month I had a regular period(5 days), then the second month I bled like 10 minutes again but the coloring was off, it was a pinkish-white color.

My boyfriend and I had sex last night and I bleed today for like 10 minutes again and it was a normal bright red but the size of a dime was the amount.

Was the bleeding today from having sex last night, as I have bled once before after having sex. I know I am not pregnant as I took a test last week.

I'm not sure if you are having a period or if it is from sex but the website says that the ingestion of taking Marvelon can result in lighter periods. However, it seems very strange that your period only lasted for a matter of minutes. You may need to see your doctor to test for BV (bacterial vaginitis) as well. Sometimes it can cause a light bloody discharge that is like what you discribed. Don't worry though. If you do have that it is very treatable. This pill may be too strong for you also, causing you to not have a regular period which doesn't seem to be the point in taking it. A doctor would be better able to judge its efficacy in your specific case.
