    Unhappy Missed two pills...

I take 21 active pills and seven inactive or "sugar" pills; the pack is a Sunday starter (Tri Cyclen Lo). I take birth control between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM. After the last inactive pill, I missed the first Sunday active pill. My boyfriend and I had sex on Monday night at around 11:00 PM - where I also missed a pill (I usually get a new pack of pills on Monday mornings but I had forgotten about the Holiday so the clinic was closed). I just got the new pack today (Tuesday) and have taken two active pills and will take two tomorrow like the instructions stated. We will use back up birth control for seven days. My question is, could I still be at risk for pregnancy after missing Sunday night's pill and having sex on Monday night? We had sex before or around the time I usually take the pill. So technically, did I miss one pill before having sex or did I miss two?

I would call the clinic, but the women there are rude as ... I'm trying to use that as a last resort. Last time I had a question (non-birth control related) I got mis-information, so I don't trust them anymore.

Yes. Being on birth control in the first place means there is a risk of pregnancy as it is not 100% effective. This DOES NOT mean you are absolutely going to get pregnant now that you have missed 2 pills. The pills are still in your body working as they should, and you did take them when you could so it not like you completely messed up your entire pill pack. It is not miss a pill and you are doomed...not like that at all. Effectiveness stays the same. You are not absolutely 100% going to be pregnant simply because you missed a pill, we all do it at some point. That said the pill itself is not 100% effective so there is always the possibility of becoming pregnant anyway.

It really depends on whether or not you ovulated. And it's difficult to know for sure. You might be better off using backup BC until your next pill pack.
