i'm on the pill and my boyfriend and i always use condoms because neither of us are in a position to have kids and if either of us forgets one it's nice to know there's a "backup"

anyway, i try to take the pill at the same time every day, or at least in a three hour window. how important is this? like is "skipping" a pill a matter of hours or days?

also i know this kind of seems liek a silly question but it would ease my worries to get some feedback. sometimes we have sex when i first wake up, before ive even gotten out of bed. i take the pill right after we're done....but should i be worried about this?

3 hours is the window when you are fine. If you come home late from work for example and it has been past that 3 hours it is still fine, just take the pill as soon as you can. Going past that 3 hour window is not recommended but it does not mean you are suddenly going to become pregnant simply because it has been passed those 3 hours. Never skip a pill entirely though. If you completely forget a pill one day then take it as soon as you remember and then take your next pill, even if it is the same day, at the regular time you normally would.

Makes no difference when you have sex. Once the pill is in your system it is there with the same level of protection as long as you stay consistent with the times you are taking it. Do not start skipping around with times or miss several days and DO NOT start taking plan B just willy nilly because that plan B pill has several times the dosage of one chemical in regular birth control so it will mess up your cycles.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
