    Hey Ladies!

My names Hollie, I'm 18 and on the 26th April I had the Nexplanon implant fitted..
Now I know everyone says 'it takes 6 months to settle down' and I fully understand this..

But, I've been on my period for 2 months straight now, I'm shattered all the time and feel drained, I'm constantly emotional and it's depressing me how rubbish it is making me feel. The physical effects it's having on it is awful.. my sex drive is pretty much non existent.. my poor boyfriend keeps thinking somethings wrong and I just don't want it at all..

I know these are all side effects of the implant, but I'm not sure how much longer I can keep it up I'm sick of being on my period and being so drained all the time!

I'm contemplating having it out already, anybody else feel like this?

Hi, I had the same nexplanon implant put in this last Saturday, spookily enough based in Plymouth also, and am aware that there are some pretty irregular periods to be expected in the first 3 mons due to this being the time when the highest amount of the hormone is released, and after this point any issues should tail off. Have read tons of other women's views on this and I think it's a total gamble and all dependant on how your own body reacts with it. I would recommend sticking with it, but I'm in the great position of only having just had it put in, will get back to you in 3 months time! But on a positive note I have heard of a lot of women who have had great success and their periods have stopped altogether for the duration of the implant being in there.

Really think I personally should have done a bit more research before having it put in though as had no idea how long the thing is and makes me feel a bit sick touching it and feeling it under my skin. Good luck to you though and hope the periods calm down for you
