Hi Ladies,
Quick question about the pill. This is my third month on Loestrin 24. I took the first active pill of this pack at 11pm, whereas I had usually been taking them in the morning. The next morning I decided to resume the morning schedule and took the second one in the morning, less than 12 hours after the first one. I stuck with the morning schedule, taking them all between 7 and 9 am. Then, early in the second week, I was sick and vomiting, so again did not take my pill until about 11pm, as I would have thrown it up otherwise. I didn't think anything of it and didn't think I needed a backup method because in my mind, I hadn't "missed" any pills, like "uh oh, I completely forgot it." I've had sex multiple times this month, couldn't pinpoint dates with any accuracy. But now I'm starting to worry, because my breasts are suddenly very sore. I also had some spotting early in the 3rd week of pills.
I usually start bleeding during the last 4 days of active pills, which should be today or tomorrow, but...nothing. It's usually very obvious when I ovulate because I get a lot of cervical mucous (sorry, TMI!) but haven't had that this month. I am freaking out! What do you suppose my risk factor is?
If you are on the pill, then you are not ovulating. If you ARE ovulating, then your pill is not working and you should definitely talk to your doctor (which I don't believe to be the case). The pill stops ovulation, which is why it stops you from getting pregnant.
COULD you be pregnant? Eh....yeah...but it's highly unlikely. In the pamphlet that comes with your pills it tells you that if you miss 1 days pill (I'm considering 1 day = 24 hour period...) to take two the next day but you are still considered protected. If you miss two days that's a different story and you have to start all over and know you're NOT protected.
I'm sure you're fine... but if you don't start your period within a week of when you should, take a pregnancy test.![]()
