    Hey everyone,

I need some help about the Nuvaring. I had never been on birth control and my physician recommended me the ring. She showed me how to use it. I started my period today a couple of days before I'm suppose to take it out and I don't know if I need to take it out now. I tried taking it out but I can't find it and I'm worried. I've tried to call my physician but can't get a hold of her. I went to the Nuvaring website but they don't have my answers.

1- How do I know if the ring fell out by mistake but I didn't notice.?

2- Am I suppose to take the ring out or no.?

First, your period will likely be "off" for a couple months, don't worry about it. If you don't leave the ring in for the length you're supposed to, it will only make the transition more difficult. Second, not to sound vulgar, but how far up did you actually search for it? Mine tends to find a nice nook for itself, and I do have to reach to get it. If you've been having sex, it is possible that it fell out. However, I've never had it fall out just from the normal day-to-day. If you can insert your finger entirely, feel around, and not feel it at all, it's possible it fell out, or that it worked its way up to somewhere it's not supposed to be. I think there are symptoms associated with that, up to and including cramping, but I imagine you'd have noticed something wedging itself in that manner. I couldn't say for sure, though.

Actually my physician was the one who did it. It's my first time. Yeah I did feel all around and could not find it.

It doesn't really matter who put it in, it moves on its own once it's inserted. I always check for mine after sex, it's a good habit to get into since they can fall out during activities.

Yeah I think I'm going to start checking too.
When it moves do you have trouble finding it too.?
Sorry I'm asking too many questions, it's barely going to be a month since I started using it.

Problems? No, not really. You should be able to feel it inside you with a finger, you just may have to reach a bit. If you can't find it at all, it probably came out, but be aware of any symptoms that seem odd (sharp pains, etc) because they could indicate that it moved up, instead of out.
