Hello there, I tried to skip my period this month due to going on vacations, I finished my ortho tri cyclen pill package last Saturday and immediately started a new pack, which I was told by my doctor it was ok, and I have done it before with success, but this time didn't work, I am having a little period, my question is why it didn't work this time trying to skip it? how long should I expect my bleeding to last? any answers will be appreciate it.

It did not work because of the phenomenon called breakthrough bleeding. That is simply random bleeding at random times during the time you take the pill, it is not predictable and it typically does not last long. Minor spotting is not a full out period.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
