Thread: IUD and bad cramping!

I've had the copper IUD since March 2010. First few months normal period cycle. Then it was non stop spotting for a few months. Then I had a really bad period March of this year. The worst one I've had in my entire life. Extreme cramping. I mean extreme and heavy flow. After that I didn't have a period for a few months. Now I'm having one now, and it's extremely painful again. Sharp pains. Heavy flow. It feels like someone is stabbing me in my ovaries. Yesterday it was the left side today its the right.

Has anyone experienced this? Should I see my doc or just live with it?

i also have the copper iud and the very painful cramping is normal that is one of the side effects. i have had mine for almost 5 years and for the past 12 days ive have non stop spotting
