I had my mirena inserted after a miscarraige by my doctor this past June. But my health insurance ran out in July, and I never made it to my 30-day post insertion check up. The nurse's office informed me to check up on the coils and see if they were there and get more insurance as soon as possible. I never did my monthly check for September, even though for the past month I have had discharge daily (clear) and cramps that range from mild to severe. Today they are so bad I had pretty much resolved to get it removed. When I went to the bathroom to check my threads I felt absolutely nothing. My boyfriend informed me during sex he could definitely feel something, but I am afraid it still may have penetrated the womb because I could feel them back in July. My new insurance does not kick in for a couple of weeks, but I am thinking of heading to Planned Parenthood (for the first time) for an IUD removal. Has anyone else had cramping/discharge four months after Mirena? Should I wait until my insurance kicks in to speak to a real doctor or just head to P.P? Any advice would be awesome.
