    Default Advice on the pill

I'm 24 years old and a week ago I lost my virginity to my boyfriend. I've been on the pill for almost two years now (to regulate my periods and whatnot), and I take it regularly. Every now and then I'll be an hour or 2 late in taking it but I haven't missed any pills.

It was on my mind all week, and then I was supposed to get my period this weekend and it didn't come. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it did come out negative, but I'm still afraid. I know it's not uncommon to miss your period while on the pill but I have never missed one on the pill even when I wasn't sexually active.

Any advice would be very welcome. Seems like a non-judgmental group in here.

Since you are consistent with taking it the chances of you being pregnant are very slim. It is quite possible to have a period so light that it does not even register as a period to some women. It is also not uncommon to before or after a scheduled period as well as miss one altogether. Nothing to be worried about unless you miss a period again and again.

I did have some very light bleeding this weekend, but I assumed that it was because of recently losing my virginity. Is it possible that that was actually my period?

It is possible. If it was your period do not be surprised if you have residual brown spotting later in the week, this is merely left over blood. Bleeding after loosing virginity usually happens right then and there, sometimes the actual motions from sex can cause your uterus to contract a bit more than usual and hence start up a period. Again this is normal, and if the sex did move some stuff around so-to-speak then the brown spotting (essentially from sex loosening things up) can happen as well.
