doing this with the pill is very bad for you! its messing up your system... is there any chance of pregnancy? if not i would attribute it to you messing around with your system.... it could just be confused
Hello all,
I'm not on any form of birth control right now because I can't afford it. However, I was on the pill a little while ago (Giavani) and I still have some left over, which I use for special occasions (by which I mean, if my period is due and it's a REALLY inconvenient time to get it, for example).
Well, the November 15 happened to be a special occasion, so I went back on the pill so that I wouldn't get my period, which was due around the 16th. I went on the pill on Monday 14 Nov, and came off it again on Sunday 20 Nov. Around two weeks BEFORE then, roughly just after I should have finished ovulating, my husband and I had unprotected sex.
Now, I'm one of those people who always thinks they're pregnant. Now I have a few symptoms, but from previous experience and wasted money I'm not going to let myself panic/take a test until I know that my period is late. This time, I'm not going to rush out to buy one at the first sight of some breast tenderness!
It's still not here, but it is actually late? In other words, how does being on the pill for one week effect your cycle? Does it start it all over again? Should I have had a period as soon as I came off it?
(My last period was about six weeks ago. I'm extremely regular; my period is always every four weeks.)

The way you're using your BC now is not exactly great for your body, it's not how it is intended to be used, and so the effects of it could be all over the place. It's very hard to tell how a woman's body reacts to coming off BC because we're all so different. Some women get their periods right away after stopping the pill, others it takes a while to get back to any "normal" menstrual cycle again. This is even harder to determine when you're only on it for a week or so at a given time. So unfortunately, at this point, there's not really a way to tell what exactly is going on with your body.
My hunch is that you're not pregnant and the week's worth of BC pills screwed up your system, so it's a waiting game until your period comes again. BUT with that said, it would be a good idea of you to wait a while and take a HPT to be sure.
Do you want to be on birth control? I'm not sure where you live, but you may want to look into a Planned Parenthood or other such clinic in your area where you can get prescription BC for very inexpensive, if not free, based on your financial situation. When I was a poor student just getting by and couldn't afford prescription meds, I was able to get my BC for free from Planned Parenthood.

Well, turns out I AM pregnant...
Haha, of course the one time I'm not actually worried; and instead sit there thinking "naaaah, I'm not pregnant", I would be!
How funny.
