Smile Using Nuva Ring to Skip Period

So last week, as usual, my period was scheduled to begin at the worst time possible, the day before my anniversary. (Isn't it nice how that happens?) A friend told me that if you simply leave the nuva ring in a fourth week and insert a new one immediately you can skip your period. And it worked!

I inserted a new ring at the end of the fourth week, but now I am stuck on what to do next. Can I take this one out after 3 weeks or does that mess everything up? Do I need to skip another period to return my cycle to normal? All the literature I have come across about this is about continuously skipping periods, but I only wanted to skip one.

I also started having some unusual spotting and cramps today (I put in the new ring exactly one week ago.) Is this normal?

Just take it out after the 3rd week like normal. When i did that, i took the ring out after 3 weeks, then put another one in right after, i didn't know you should do it after the 4th week, but i think my doctor told me to do it that way. I think the spotting and cramps is normal for skipping over your period, it didn't happen to me but my periods are also not as strong as other girls.
