    Default Mood swings on Alesse

Hello everyone! I've been taking Alesse birth control pills for probably about two weeks now. I've noticed that I've become extremely moody and emotional lately. For example, sometimes nothing will be wrong but I will start crying and be unable to control or stop it. Other times anything and everything irritates me and I yell at people (mostly my BF) for no reason. Also, I barely care for sex at all since I've started taking these pills. The idea of it just doesn't interest me anymore... I feel like I'm not really myself while I'm on these pills and I've heard it only lasts for the first few months... What have your experiences been? Hopefully it's only temporary

With any birth control pill I've taken, I've had similar symptoms. After 2 weeks I get really moody, irritable, anxious, and depressed. Sometimes the birth control pill can trigger anxiety and depression in people. I've read that it depletes your body from Vitamin E (The vitamin that helps the brain create seratonin- the happy chemical in the brain). I tried taking Vitamin E with the pill and it didn't work, but I also have 10 year history of depression. Everyone reacts differently to the pill. Perhaps you just need to change the pill you're on. I'd call your doctor.

Keep in mind though that it does take about 3 months for your body to become completely adjusted to the pill. I also lost my sex drive when I was on the pill. I had a hard time getting wet.
~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~
