Default Very Messed Up Birth Control

Usually I get my period Tue-Thru at some random time bc of my birth control. I've been on birth control for 2.5 years. I had my last period a week before the following happened. I recently had strep and was on antibiotics which cancels out the pill. I finished the antibiotics and continued to take my pill. 2 days after finishing the antibiotics and taking my pills on schedule, I had unprotected sex. I continued to take my pill on schedule after that for the next 2-3 days. Then I forgot to take my pill for 3 days after that and I started to spot. That has happened to me before when I have forgotten to take the pill. This time, it was a lot heavier and lasted 3 days, the usual length of my period. I started taking my pills again and finally stopped bleeding. Then I misplaced my package and found it again 3 days behind schedule with only one pill left in the thing. I took it thinking it was my last one only to later find my ACTUAL package with 5 pills left. At that point I figured I took an old one and already missed enough days and I'll be starting my period anyway now so I just waited. It's Saturday and I still have not gotten my period.

My question is, with the above, was the spotting actually my period? Or could I be pregnant?

As soon as you miss three days your body will assume you are on the placebos and the spotting or regular menstrual bleeding can begin. Also as soon as you miss 3 pills in a row you must restart your pills from day 1 of the pack as 3 days without the pill essentially "resets" your cycle. Because of all the missed pills your body will have to readjust all over again and it can take a few months to do that now. You could spot more now that you have missed so many and then taken some again, basically your body has no idea what is going on right now so it just spots. Give it some time to realign again. If in a few weeks you feel sick or anything you can take a pregnancy test to put your mind at ease. Next time have your watch set at your pill taking time or your phone or have it at a time you know you can take that pill at roughly the same time every day so that you do not miss so many pills. Missing one or two is fine if you remember to take them later but 3 missed days in a row is too many.
