    Default Honeymoon birthcontrol help!!!

Hi everyone. I just realized I will be getting my period the day I leave for my honeymoon. It is one month away. I am on Ortho-tricyclen lo and normally I know you can skip the placebo week and start a new pack but I tried that once and it didn't work. I used to use the nuvaring and I wondering if I went back on it, that may work because you can leave that in for an extra week (which would postpone my period for a week). Has anyone ever had this happen to them? What did you do?

    Thanks!

    Lightbulb skipping period on nuvaring

Congratulations by the way! I've skipped several of my periods purposely on my vacations using Nuvaring. I can either leave it in for an extra week, or i take it out a week earlier thatn im supposed to, to make my period come early and not on my vacation dates. I hope this helps you.

The reason the Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo didnt work is because that is a Triphasic level pill. That means each week of active pills is a different level of hormones. As far as I know you can only skip periods with a monophasic pill. Which is the same level of hormones in the active pills.

I used to skip periods when I was on the patch, with no problems. I imagine Nuva Ring would be no different.

    Congrats and Good Luck !
