Thread: IUCD left in for too long?

Hi, a good friend of mine has had an IUCD in place for something like 25 years. I know they should be replaced after 10 years. She refuses to see a Doctor and I am concerned that this is now causing her problems. I am looking for any information that I can use to better educate her so that she will realise the importance of dealing with it. Does anyone know where I could find such or had any experiences with such? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry that it's been a few weeks since you posted this. I don't know where you can get info about IUCD's left in place for more than ten years. Maybe you could talk to your own gyn about your friends situation. Your doctor should be able to give you some ideas on what to do that could make her change her mind about having it removed.
