I recall hearing that certain over the counter drugs and antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of the pill. I'm not sure which OTC drugs they are? Anyone know? Thanks!

It is true that some medications can have an undesired reaction with birth control whether they be over the counter or prescription. It all depends on the particular birth control you are taking as they all have different ingredients and some work in other ways then some. The best way to know what medications will interact with your particular birth control, is to either look up the drug on the internet at a site like http://dugs.com, the makers site, contact the maker by mail or phone, or ask your doctor. Drugs.com often times has the original prescription documentation available online which might say what medications to avoid.

most antibiotics such as amoxicillin, and anything with antihistamines in it like benadryl can interfere...if your getting it over the counter though your doctor should warn you...
