my period gets earlier and earlier as my time on the pill goes on...
Hi Girls-
This is my first post here, but I'm hopeful that y'all may be able to help me.
I started birth control in Jan of this year. I was on Ortho-Tri LO for about 5 months and my period never regulated itself out; it actually came earlier and earlier as time went on. The breaking point was in April or May when it came a week after my last period.
I went back to the dr and asked about Yaz (the shorter periods sounded great to me) and they put me on. For the first 4 months, it was great! Perfectly timed period, not side effects or anything. However, in the past two months I've noticed a decrease in my libido. Last month, I had some spotting a couple days before my period was to start, which annoyed me because I hadn't had any on Yaz, but I didn't think much of it. This month, my period has started a week early (on my 1 year ann with my bf, no less!) and it is very heavy and I have bad cramps.
I'm at a loss. I've only been on two kinds of pills but it seems that as time goes on, my body and period get LESS used to the pill, not more as it should.
I've searched the internet for anything on this and cant find anything. None of my friends have experienced this. I am really just looking for advice on other types of pills and bc (I am considering the ring next) so that I can inform myself of all my options. I've made an appt. at my campus health clinic but cannot get in for 3 weeks, so I'm looking to hopefully get an appt. at the local women's clinic.
So, in a nutshell, has anyone dealt with such a thing? What other pills and methods are out there that may help me finally have a normal period? What should I ask my dr? Thank you soo much!
