Thread: NuvaRing Question!

I took one shot of Depo and for a whole lot of reasons decided it wasn't for me. I went yesterday and me and my dr. decided to put me on NuvaRing. I've had problems with insertion (I have acrylic nails-eeek!) so I had my boyfriend do it. I'm going to be using this method from now on- Get a cardboard tampon applicator (the ring tends to get caught in the tines of plastic ones, apparently). Pinch it in the middle, and put it halfway in the applicator. Insert like a tampon! Genius! Anyway. I have a question about the 7 days off.

I've just got off Depo, so I KNOW my periods will be irregular. And say, I take it out on day 21 of use, but don't get my period til' day 5 of the week off. Do I still put in a ring on day 7, or wait for a full 7 day period to come? Help!!!=)

when i was on the ring i just switched out every four weeks for three months in a row then on month four i took it out at three weeks left it out for one week and repeated cycle... My doctor said i only have to have 4 periods a year so this way 8 were no existant! His suggestion was a good one for me
