I just recently started taking Yasmin. I took it the first day of my period this month, and it usually last seven days. But it has been a few days longer now and it doesnt seem like it will stop. Last month my period was about 1 1/2 weeks late. I was not on the pill at that time and I was sick for the entire month before that, so I thought i was pregnant but i took a home preg. test and it was negative. Is it common for this to happen when on the pill? I have never been on the pill before.

Taking any form of birth control provides no gaurantees that your cycles will be regular. In fact, they are infamous for making you irregular in the beginning months. You may experience fluctuations in length, frequency, texture of blood, and color of blood. You will need to give it more time to regulate your hormones. Every woman can react differently.
