This is my first time taking the pill, and considering the hard time my mother had with birth control my positive experience (no headaches, no spotting, no mood disturbances) has been quite a surprise. Yesterday was the first day of taking the sugar/placebo pill and even before my regular time to take the pill I experience a very small amount of spotting. I've been experiencing very little versions of my former period cramps. I am just a bit nervous because in the past 24 hours i have only had 2 small instances of spotting, very light.

Did anyone else's first period on the pill turn out so light while your body was still adjusting to the hormones?

It can happen. You are right, your body is adjusting to the hormones. Give it a few months before you get nervous. Also, FYI I believe you aren't considered "safe" for the first 2 months of the pill.
