    Default The Condom Question

Condoms seem to be such a conundrum.
Without them, you're risking pregnancy and/or STDs, depending on your situation. Also, you take away a source of lubricant.
With them, you take away the man's sensitivity.
My boyfriend and I are back to using condoms, after nearly 6 months of sexual activity, one month of Yaz (disaster,) and 4 pregnancy scares (I'm a paranoid person.) I have to say that I find the condom use improved our sex life, possibly because of the psychological security, and for me, mostly because of the lubricant.
We're having sex twice as much now as the last time he was home, and he doesn't seem to have a problem finishing.
How have condoms affected your relationship? I'd like to hear men and women's points of view, just for the sake of discussion, not as a question requiring an answer or advice.

Being that i don't wanna get pregnant anytime soon again, i got a whole bunch of condoms. Personally, i dont like the way it feels with a condom altough theres a great amount of lubricant, i just dont, i've always like the natural feeling . However for protection, we have no choice but to use them and i would rather use condoms than any other type of protection.

I hated birth control, and some people just can't take it. It messes them up too much. My mother told me she could never really take birth control pills.

I so agree with you on this! I was on birth control for 3 months 2 years ago not for protection, to regulate my period and i never liked it not to mention the extra weight i gained. I never really used protection, we always did the pull out method and that was fine i never got pregnant until we started trying for a baby. Now, we are using condoms since i heard its really easy to get pregnant after your first baby not that i dont mind getting preggo, just not right away....

Me and my boyfriend always use condoms and I don't mind them at all and he says that he doesn't either. We tried a LOT of different types of condoms and found the type that feels best for him. Some of them left a red mark around the base of his penis and he said he did not feel a lot of pleasure so we kept trying different kinds. We now found a kind that he loves. I hear a lot of people say that they hate condoms so much. My boyfriend and I are really commited to 'safe sex' and although I'm on the pill we still use condoms everytime. We try to make it a little bit 'exciting' instead of a mood killer and we takes turns putting it on. I used to put the condom on every time and put the lube on (the condoms are lubricated but I like to use a little bit of extra lube) and whenever we would go to have sex I would feel really overwhelmed so now we take turns putting the condom and lube on and it's a really great. I think it is awesome that they have soo many different types of condoms because you can keep trying until you find a brand/style that you really like.

Me and my boyfriend used to only use condoms b/c i wasn't on birth control. but once i went on it we wouldn't use the condom then before he goes we would use a condom just to be safe. and now he wants to just go in me without the condom. while i am on birth control and i am really good at taking it the same exact time every night i am paranoid about doing that! I cannot get pregnant anytime soon! i have a year and a half left of college and i would rather get pregnant when i'm married. so i prefer to keep that slight paranoia and use a condom for part of the sex even though he doesn't always want too lol.

I love them. They take a little getting used to but once you are both used to them then it's no biggie and the peace of mind is worth it.....and you don't have to mess your body and hormone all up with a pill.
