Birth control is a double-edged sword. It reacts well to some people, many people, actually, but others have a really hard time with it.
If you haven't had a gynecologist check you out, you'll have to do that first. If you use your parents' insurance, they will see that you've been to the doctor. If you don't use their insurance, it can be very expensive.
Try to find somewhere that bills on a sliding scale, like Planned Parenthood to avoid this.
Plus, birth control can be very expensive. I think Yaz was supposed to be $50/month without insurance!
So, just get all the facts before you go and put false hormones in your body. It can be great, but it can also mess you up badly.
