tencynt, There are other posts and documentation of pregnancy.

darkshadows91, I find it strange that your doctor will only do essure metal coils being that essure if definately not for everyone. Just my opinion but it sounds like he is pressuring you to do essure. I have to wonder what his motives are. My doctor needed some one to practice on. He pressured me.

ars, you need to seek medical attention immediately. That is not normal. I don't know if your problems are due to the metal coils but there are documented cases of the metal coils migrating into the abdomen. I'm not saying that to scare you but to urge you to get help immediately even if it means going to the emergency room.

Ladies please make those reports to the FDA. I know that the FDA is supposedly having technical difficulties and a lot of the reports of adverse events are no longer available to read but the doctors and the company don't seem to make the reports and if everyone doesn't make their own reports then the problems with this procedure will not be addressed. If you have any questions on how to make those reports just let me know.

Question Ultrasound results

Kym4, thank you for your advise. I did go to my doctor as soon as I could and he did an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed a large cyst in my ovary that recently erupted and .....fluid in my uterus! I now have a constant crampy feeling with lower back pain. Now, this could be from the fluid from the cyst in my ovary (This is the first cyst I have ever gotten) but why is there fluid in my uterus? The ultrasound tech said that she doesn't know what that is and rarly sees fluid in the uterus like that. The ultrasound did show the coils still in the tubes (thank goodness) but I am really worried about the fluid in my uterus.

The doctor thinks that I may be having some type of reaction/aggervation from the coils and really doesn't know what to do. He gave me my options...drain some fluid and have it tested...look around in there laprascopy (spelling)...but then he said that he would need my permission to do anything drastic if neccessary (hysterectomy) (spelling??).

He said that we couldn't just remove the tubes because it is very vascular and would be a huge mess and we would have to do a hysterectomy (spelling???).

I am calling an allergist tomorrow to get a nickel allergy test done and then calling my doctor cause I want to test the fluid (he doesn't know what kind of fluid it is or even if it is blood).

He thinks a hysterectomy is drastic considering I'm only 29 and I agree but the pain and swelling is getting ridiculous!

So, I am unsure about my options because I have read that some of you were able to get your just your tubes removed and is it a good idea to test the fluid and to let him look in there via laproscopy?

Thank you in advance!
Arienne

ars, I had my coils removed laproscopically. They did not remove my tubes. Sorry but the bottom line with this procedure is that most doctors don't know what to do when there is a problem. I know my doctor was so knowledgeable about how great the essure procedure was until I had problems then he had to call Conceptus and was told that there was no way that the coils could be the problem. He said only a hysterectomy could be done. I went to some one else that had actually removed them before. I was warned before surgery to remove them that they still might have to do hysterectomy. My best advice is to research, talk to other healthcare people and I know these forum threads are long but read them to see what you can find. There are also some posts about allergic reactions to the metal coils. You can print some of this stuff and take it to your doctor.

Default removing coils

Kym4,
Hey! Thank you so much for your responses. I am currently looking for a doctor who will take out just the coils without doing a hysterectomy and I think it will be a difficult tast because I live in a rural part of Louisiana. I am hoping that I can find some doctor around here or in nearby states that can do this.

Thank you

WildChild, Hi glad you read the thread. It is long and there are other forums with threads about problems with essure metal coils. I keep posting because I have done too much research and I am horrified at the whole process. The research has led me to looking at how things are done at the FDA and drug/device manufacturers influence on the doctors and healthcare profession. I'm not a conspiracy theory person but Big Pharma has more input on your life than you could ever imagine. There are many myths about the FDA approval process and the so called medical malpractice situation with doctors. I am shocked. Funny also that since I began encouraging women to make the adverse events reports the FDA has started having technical difficulties and some reports are no longer on the site or have all the narratives taken out so you can't tell what happened. Essure has too many potential problems for it to survive which is probably why the company execs sold off their stock.

Default Essure problems

I'm new here trying to find out more about this essure procedure. I had it doen in June and have started to have severe abdominal pain which required me to be hospitalized for 4 days and was just released yesterday. Two weeks ago I was hopsitalized for the same abdominal pain and wasn't told until this last episode that my coil had disloged and is now in my uterus. The doctors and the on call ob/gyn are convinced that there is no way that this is causing my pain however all my ct scans and x-rays have come back normal. The hospital did not want to remove the coil and said that I needed to have it removed by the ob that put it in. This can't be done until sometime next week possibly. They are making me feel like I'm crazy! They even called the drug rep for essure who of course told them that there is no way it was causing my pain??!! I'm worried that this is more serious than they are making it out to be and that I'll end up in surgery or having a hysterectomy. I guess at this point I'm just reaching out for help. Anyone else had similar problems??

moleary, Yes there are those who have faced what you are facing. I was also told that there was no way the essure metal coils could be the cause of my pain. My doctor also called Conceptus the maker of essure and they assured the doctor that the cause of my pain could not be from the essure metal coils. Guess what they were wrong. I know this thread is long but you should read all of it. You should also read the threads on Aphrodites. Aphrodites started a whole forum for essure due to all the posts about this procedure. Research
