I would not recommend Essure to an enemy! My coil fell out of place. Which never happens according the every DR. BS!!! Check the net it happens... so now I have to worry about a tubal PG. oh yay grrrrrrr!

Plus the HSG test to check is awful. My DR said it would be uncomfortable. Sure it was as uncomfortable as someone gutting me.

They want me to fix mine. I am not going to, as I have read that even when they think your tubes are closed women get PG. I have endometriosis so I plan to have a partial hysterectomy in a few years. Right now I want to enjoy my baby.

If you have had a bad experiance with ESSURE or anything medical, you need to report it to the FDA.

I have found peace with my experiance with Essure but I have not found peace with the DR and manufactures encouraging this form of sterilization.

Go back to your doc or find a different one and talk about your concerns. You may show him/her these posts that you read. Is it possible for you to get it out and do the Copper IUD instead?

Here is how yours look like:

    And here's the copper IUD:

I had the essure procedure done December 29, 2009. I was having major bleeding before and he couldn't figure out why it wouldn't stop (my periods were constant). So the doctor gave me 3 choices Meds (which I don't like to medicate myself I don't care for the risks), IUD (to mask to problem MAYBE), or the essure procedure. We chose the essure procedure thinking this was the best choice. But now since I have had this done I am wondering if it was or was not. I have had brown discharge, nausea some days, tender breasts, and a pain in my lower right side. I have went back to the doctor and explained all of these things and he wants me to wait till March 1st to come back. He also told me I could start exercising again. I started yesterday and the pain in my right side has gotten worse. After sex the discharge is worse and brings on cramping. Wondering what I should do and if anyone else has had this. Please help!!!!!

I had my essure procedure in April (the 27th I believe) 2009. I was put under with local meds. I was not told that something went wrong until my follow up appointment when I mentioned I was having bad cramps. I was not given a lot number or card. The doctor finally told me that something went wrong with the trigger mechanism (or whatever) and that while I was under she put a second set in. So, of course during the follow up X-ray I could see four lovely coils. Two in each tube, I guess double protection. But now the doctor who did the procedure has left to work at a hospital in Houston. For a long time I felt like a knife was digging in my stomach, and the coil would possibly pop out of my skin it was so strange. It hurt to bend over and just sit down on the floor next to my baby to change her diaper. Now three to four weeks of the month are shot with the privilage all women have and more cramping than I used to, and lower back pain like crazy.

Sorry that you are having trouble. There are several of us who have had problems. I personally believe that this is a bad procedure. There are way too many IF'S with this procedure. They should have never placed 2 coils in each tube. No wonder you are hurting. Unfortunately your only options are probably surgery to remove the devices. Those of us who have had problems have had trouble finding doctors who know what to do if there is a problem. We have also had trouble trying to find a doctor that is willing to admit that anything can go wrong with this so called wonderful procedure. I'd file an adverse event with the FDA. I've posted on this forum how to do that before but if you have trouble just let me know. You might also want to look at Shellarlaw.com. They are investigating the problems with the essure procedure. They might could give you some advice.

    Default essure on one tube

I had an ectopic and lost one tube. Then I made a horrible decision last year that I already regret and had the essure procedure done on the other tube. Although I read the pamphlet that said I couldn't have it done if I had only one tube, my doctor went along with it. I was very young, under 24. Right before surgery he reassured me that if I wanted to get pregnant in the future there was a way...well, I am desperately seeking that way... I am seriously wondering why they say you cant have the essure done if you only have one tube?? I would really appreciate some enlightenment on this subject and any other advice women may have on my predicament. I see alot of girl's posts on here where the essure has failed them, and I can only hope and pray for the same. Is there a small chance that since I'm missing a tube on one side I could still have a fighting chance so to speak? I believe I am too young to give up so soon. I also looked at the Essure reversal procedure, but that would be a last resort for me. i don't know much about it and i would hate to go through more surgery. Any way, any advice would be very much appreciated and taken.
