Default essure lost in abdominal cavity

Well ladies I picked up a copy of my CT scan and guess what the left essure is now out side of my tubes and inside my abdominal cavity. Now as far as I'm concerned this is a very big deal. This product was able to perforate or find its way out of my tube and is metal and only 3-4 cm long which this new doc acts like its no big deal if we find it. I wish I would have never heard about Essure. I read a report about a woman who had one lost for 3 yrs they finally found it attached to her colon. Its been three weeks for me and I knew the day after that something was wrong. Ladies this as the finding stated can cause MORBIDITY (death). to me this is serious. I just wanted my tubes tied. Now I know some of you will get on here and see this and say well this is only one woman. but she nor I am alone. This procedure is to new PLEASE think twice before having it done. I have always been a very healthy and active person but the last three weeks have been heck. I will continue to share what goes on and how the fix this terrible thing they did to me.

    Default Honest questions about Essure

I'm planning on having the Essure procedure done in January and have many questions regarding this. I get mostly smiles and reassurance when I ask my dr. these questions. Also the brochure has nothing but great things to say. I don't really want to hear the really bad and rare horror stories, but I do want to know what I'm in for. I am not a candidate for birth control pills and am at high risk for blood clots, so that's out of the question. I don't have time to recover from a big surgery, so Essure seemed like the best option. We are at high risk for a child with a genetic abnormality, so getting pregnant again would not be a good idea. So here are my strait forward questions...Is there pain/any change in intercourse after this procedure? Change in menstrual cycle? Any major changes in your body that would effect me physically or emotionally? I know that's a silly question, but who knows, right? How will I know for sure it's "safe" to have sex without getting pregnant? And really, is the pregnancy rate as low as the brochure says it is? Thanks for your input.

That is rediculous! The doctor should be more concerned about it being in your abdominal cavity. I hope all goes well with this. I agree this is a life or death situation. I read that the excess fluid in the uterus can cause death if you retain too much of itas well. I too wish I had just gotten my tubes tied. Women be careful!

Ok I am going to try to answer some of your questions from my experience without scaring you lol. But you should check out the other two forums essure failures and success stories on here about this procedure before you make any concrete decisions. And remeber every womens body is different. I had my procedure done on Septemebr 26this year. There was a lot of cramping and it is now only occassional. When sexual if I am in the wrong position I do get some pain where the inserts are and a little bit of spotting afterwards, however it is still new so I am trying to be patient. There is nothing that has changed physically or mentally for me, however the idea of closing down my baby factory did make me a little sad because I never had a boy but I have 5 beautiful girls and I honestly cant handle or afford any more, so make sure this is what you want. You have to use alternate birth control until your HSG procedure to amke sure they have scarred completely and you are safe from pregnancy. About the pregnancy rate, I have read one post on here about a woman who is pregnant i think 7 months after the prodedure. check that one out. And I have found a few other cases on the net about pregnancies after the procedure. Do your research and dont look at the essure website. Look other places that are not related to the company to get other womens experiences. Good luck!

I had essure procedure and had to have them removed. The new doc was able to remove them without doing a hysterectomy. I owe thousands of dollars in medical bills and am very unhappy with the way the docs treated me. I was told there was absolutely no way the metal coils could be the cause of my pain. I also had to insist on an xray. The xray showed the coil bent and twisted. The docs still tried to tell me that the metal coil couldn't be the cause of my pain. Since having them removed, I no longer have the pain. The coil had perforated my uterus and tube.

I would not recomend this procedure to any one. Everything hinges on If they can place them, If the coils stay in place, If the tubes occlude. Ladies be careful. The procedure is being heavily promoted because the docs can make more money doing the essure metal coils than a tubal. The company that makes the metal coils is offering doctors free medical equipment which can also be used for other procedures thereby saving the docs the cost of some very expensive equipment. Unfortunately I think the docs aren't thinking about their patients only their pocketbooks.

Look at the other thread on this site about essure and look at aphrodites. I would not recomend this procedure to any one. My doc was all smiles and sweet until the problems began. Think about metal coils in your body. Think about the trouble to remove them if there is a problem. My so called simple procedure cost me 3 months of down time. Sure wish I'd just had the tubal.

    Default Essure Problems

Well ladies after the long weekend and more pain the doc did my surgery yesterday instead of waiting until Friday. I went into the hospital and to out patient surgery where the put me under and went inside of my stomach threw 3 small incisions. The tube on the right was found in the tube but not placed properly. The left one as I stated before (like I thought) had perforated my fallopian tube and had attached its self to my bowels. Thats why I've had diarrhea. They were able to remove both but in doing so both my tubes had to be removed completely. So no HYS. I'm sore and bloated from the surgery but I'm at home and should be back in full swing by Monday. I'm so glad this nightmare is over. I truly hope that you ladies think long and hard about having this done.To me its just to new there isn't enough info on it yet. I hope none else goes threw what I did. Get all the facts and normally if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. If I can help anyone in any way I will. Remember don't stop until something is done.

I am glad to hear you are ok. I have still had some ocassional cramping and spotting, but today there was a small amount of tissue in the tiolet. I dont know if this is normal since this is supposed to be a "no problems" procedure and not sure if I should call my doc. I may tomorrow if this doesnt stop its been since the 26th of septmeber.

If you feel like something isn't right go see your doc and insist on taking every measure to make sure you are ok. You know your body better than anyone so make them listen.
