You know sisters, thanks to you, as I said, I am sparing myself the Essure procedure but I honestly think something needs to be done about it. I mean there are just way too many of you suffering from unacceptable side effects and medical complications. It also appears that the doctors are all to eager to not deal with it (probably due to the sponsoring of the Essure company.) Did any of you inform the FDA of what's going on here?

Yes, I am encouraging everyone with problems to report their problem to the FDA. You can key in maude fda and go to adverse event reporting. The form is not user friendly but just use the space they allow you to type and tell what happened to you. Be sure and list essure as the product and Conceptus as the manufacturer. Be patient, I reported in early Dec and just receive a letter Friday that they had recieved my report. My report has not shown up in the maude fda database yet. The doctors nor the company has reported my problem even though they were supposed to.

    Unhappy

I had the procedure done about 6 months ago now. Every time I exercise, specifically sit ups, I have a really bad cramping pain in my right tube. The vary next day I'm discharging clotted blood.. just for that one day.

Anyone have this problem? Any suggestions? The doctor already looked and the implants are still in the right place and they say nothing is wrong. If they don't admit there is something wrong I can't get my insurance to cover the removal to get it fixed.

i had the essure procedure done about a year ago. the procedure it self was excrutiating and the doctor was stuck up enough to claim he didnt see why i was in so much pain and that he had never had a patient of his experience that much. my husband was not permitted in the room during the procedure, although he probably wouldnt have wanted to because he would have passed out lol. i watched the entire procedure on the monitor that the doctor was using. the first coil wouldnt go in and he feverishly tried to get it placed because i was in so much pain. he even looked at me and said he could stop it all right here and and i would have to come back. at that point i was like just finish already! afterwards they left me in the room freezing and alone and in terrible pain. told me to get my clothes on and they would be back. about 25 terribly long minutes later the nurse comes back in and tells me i can leave at any time when i was reaady. i had a smoke trail behind me i left so fast. i could only afford to take that afternoon off from work and reluctantly went back the next day. i felt swollen and in pain from day one.

once i had the guts to have sex again it was and has since been terrible. it hurts to the point that i cant stomach it anymore. my poor husband is lucky if i can agree to it 2x a month. yes i say agree now because that it the point it has gotten to. the pain started initially in the area of my tubes. over time though now the pain has begun to spread up my abdomen and into my lungs and chest. i havent had a normal bowel movement in i cant tell you how long. i have no appetite because i feel sick and in pain w/in30 of eating. then i have diareah. i went from weighing almost 200lbs to about 125 now. i am a size 2 and cant even begin to tell you when i remember that number. i am terrified and have been for some time now. i have stopped going to the doctor at this point because i have no trust left for them. i have complained about these problems and they look at me as if they are thinking about committing me. why are you so worried about losing weight. your a pretty girl. you should feel great. but i dont. i have rhumatoid arthritis, an irregular heartbeat. constant pain, and i am literally vanishing before my families eyes. i wish i never got this procedure.

when i first heard about it i was pregnant with my daughter (my last). at that point i was categorically against it. it didnt seem natural or normal to me. i wanted to have the tubal done when i delivered. well because i was going to a catholic hospital and my daughter was in distress when she was born they wouldnt do the procedure. 6 weeks later i go into the dr. office for my follow up and still want the tubal done. they tell me that isnt really within their recommendations because i am so young (26) and only have 2 children. at that point they recommend the essure procedure. i told them i didnt trust it. they gave me some info on it and talked to me about it and told me to make another appointment to come in next week because i needed to decide on BC anyway. i go home, do some research. i cant take the chemical BC's. they make me a lunatic. the hormones are far too much for me. a tubal or essure were my my only permanent options.

i asked them what the difference was to them because they are both permanent procedures. they told me that my insurance wouldnt necessarily cover the tubal because of my age. in order for me to get the tubal done i would have to jump through hoops to have it covered or pay out of pocket for it. reluctantly to say i chose the essure because i was serious that i didnt want any children. i felt like my hands were being tied when this was ultimately my decision. now i live everyday of my life in constant, significant pain and needing help from the very people that did this to me.

    something has got to give.

sorry about my rant, i am just relieved to know i am not losing it. i am not depressed or have an eating disorder. my body is just rejecting its guinea pig status.

    Default Thank you

To all of you; Thank You!
I read most of your posts and I swear I got cramps, I feel you pain! This is awful. Medicine is not too kind, I feel like they use us as ginny pigs, they launch new medications without any real facts.
I thought of having this procedure but after reading you posts I won't have it done. I will have my tubes tied if it comes to it. For now, I will keep trying to get my husband to get a vasectomy.
    Good luck to you all.

Exclamation Pregnacy 18 Mo After Essure!!

I had the Essure procedure performed 18 months ago right after my 2nd child was born was my husband and I felt 2 was enough! Well, much to my surprise and my doctor's, I had a positive pregnancy test today and a confirmed uterine pregnancy via ultrasound today. I am still in shock and will advise ANYONE to seek out other means of permanent birth control!

Well i finally had an appt. with another OBGYN about my essure coil. The verdict..Hysterectomy..the bright side..I get to keep my ovaries. Does anyone know who i can call or write to file a complaint with a Doctors office in Ohio? My old OBGYN is playing games with my records. I paid the $20 for everything in my file and when i go to pick it up i'm given onl y 8 pages. Mind you i've been going there since 2005. Then i'm told my other records are in another computer system that crashed and they are having I.T. work on it. Well it's been over a week. I've called the Supervisor of the Records Release and left messages and i'm not having any luck. Also when i looked at the little 8 pages they gave me..The Doct.put things in there that did not happend.Conversations of needing a biopsy and endometrieal ablation and Hysterectomy. B.S.!!! NOt once was i talked to. Any suggestions on how to handle these clowns?
