Unhappy Return to Depo...and hating it.

Hello all, I was on Depo about 5 years back and used it for over a year. I never had any adverse side effects that I've ever read about, my periods became lighter, but I still had them and that's it! However, I recently decided to go back on the shot this past December ( I have since had a child, who is 3 now.) and am having a slew of side effects!! I have a lot of acne all of a sudden around and on my chin, have had a kidney infection followed by the longest lasting yeast infection I've ever had and extreme vaginal dryness. My kidney and yeast inf. are now cleared up, the dryness is still there... Yesterday, I found a hair! a hair on my chin!! Never have I ever, had a hair grow on my face and this one was black!!Wow, I really don't know if I should stay on this stuff! It is the most effective, and I do not wish to go on standard birth control pills as they make me extremely emotional with mood swings. AAARRGGHH!! I'm very regular on my cycle so I'm thinking of abstaining on my fertile days and using spermicides the others...

Depo Provera i got my first an only Depo Shot 6 weeks after i had my Daughter never again lol, A few weeks after i got the Shot i started bleeding id literally bleed 10 days straight then stop for 10 days then bleed for 10 days the whole 3 months after i got the Shot lol, Then about a month after i got the Shot my hair started falling out an i mean falling out in big clumps i could just touch my hair an hair would come out, Its not worth the side effects i can imagine if i kept getting the Shots what new side effects i would've gotten, My problem was i kept thinking of how great it would be to just go in every 3 months an get a Shot, an not have to worry about getting pregnant instead of doing the research i should've done, Now im on the Patch an its great only have to worry about it once a week never had any problems with it or anything, If your looking to change BC id try the Patch before getting off BC completely unless you'd just rather not deal with anymore possible side effects lol, I didn't have any problems with the Patch when i got on it but everyones different so you'll never know till you try.

well i have used every darn type of bc out there. i have used the depo witch i had no problems with but i have used the patch and i personally hated it with a passion. it never stayed on and it irritated my skin to no end and i had all the nasty side effects as i did with taking the pill. well i tried the diaphragm and to me was just a hassel. well i had an iud put in place not the mirena one just the plain old copper t type. i personally love it. i have had no problems with it at all. it contains no hormones and it can last for 10 years. it is recommended for women who are in a stable monogomus relationship with one partner. well good luck with your bc solution....
