I've been off and on birth control 3 times in the past 6 months (on for a few months...off for a month, so on) I know how bad it is, but hey, the deed is done. Anyways, I was off birth control for a week when I had sex (no condom), and then after exactly 4 weeks of being off it I started taking it again. Now its been 2 1/2 weeks since I should have had my period....but I've taken two pregnancy tests and both came up negative. Is there anyway they are wrong? I don't have any signs but I feel uncomfortable that I haven't had my period! whats wrong?
At this point, there is no way of knowing for sure why you are not having your period. It could be because of the birth control and your hormones being out of balance or it could be that you are pregnant and you are getting false negatives from your tests. If your hormones are out of balance, you will just have to wait for them to normalize. They will only do that if you take your BC as instructed. To know for sure what is going on, see your gynecologist.
