Smile Question about going off the pill

Hello all! I have been on the pill for 13 years now and I am wanting to go off of the pill soon so that my husband and I can start having a family. My doctor has told me to be off of the pill for 3 months before we start trying to get pregnant? Do you all agree? What if I get pregnant as soon as I go off the pill - would that pose any harm to the baby since I won't have all of the pill out of my system? Any suggestions would be appreciated - thanks!

You most certainly should wait the three months as instructed! It is a very bad idea to intentionally get pregnant while there is still some birth control in your system. The birth control can some times cause birth defect, premature birth, and miscarraige. Granted, if you accidentally get pregnant, it is possible that you won't have any problems. But that is a serious risk to take.
