Breakthrough bleeding issues and cramps after intercourse
I'm 22 and I started taking Seasonale two months ago, I skipped my period the first month but then on the second month during the week I'd usually would of had my period I started having breakthrough bleeding that was constant and light like it would be on the last day or two of my regular period. At first I didn't think anything off it since I new this can be a typical thing for starting Seasonale, Your suppose to have your period four times a year, so I knew this was just my body trying to adjust.
However, I've also been having cramps that are random and can be very mild to sharp pain. Usually I only cramp the day before and the first day of my period so this isn't normal for me. Also the past few days I've found tissue on the pads of been using. The first was about the size of a quater, the second was a string about 3 inches long, and now its just little pieces. So I'm wondering what this is?
Also after having sex I've been having sharp cramps, that will come and go for around ten mintues... worried? I've had sex the first time about two months ago, it's the reason why I've started birth control. So I don't know if this is something my body is doing cause I'm brand new at this or if it's something else.?

Starting birth control can be a huge roller coaster ride. Every one will have different reactions to the BC. It is very common to have irregular bleeding combined with random cramping. Your bodies cycle is out of whack for a while in the beginning so you cannot expect things to go by the book. It can some times take many months for your cycles to regulate and your symptoms to become more predictable. Also, many women will have thick tissue in their blood while on their period. This is also normal. That tissue is just the uterine lining that is being shed during your period. The change in hormones will cause it to thin or thicken. The thicker it gets, the more tissue you will see. So don't be alarmed by that. Also, birth control is infamous for causing painful intercourse. If it does not go away as your cycles normalize, then you will either need to try a different birth control, deal with it, or stop taking birth control all together.
