Hello, Im 21 and i just started using birth control yesterday for the very first time and have lots of question! My boyfriend and i would use condoms but my gyno suggested i use the pill. She gave me yaz to try out and a prescription for yasmin. I want to know which one is better and which one i will have less symptoms with. Please let me know and suggestions of other pills would also be great!

Default I don't know about Yas....

But i have heard that Yasmin has caused a decrease in libido in women on it...I was on Alesse 28 for 4 months with no side effects...the only reason i got off of it was because i'm horrible at remembering to take it at the same time everyday...lol...Did your doctor also warn you about taking other precautionary measures for what i think is about 2 weeks to a month while your body gets used to the pill??? Hopefully i was some help...take care...and good luck!

It's probably good to start on Yaz , this has a lower hormone level . If you are a first time user this should be a good choice, Have you discussed your questions with your doctor? Pills differ with every woman so only you will be able to know what works.
Yasmin has a higher dose of estrogen so if you tend to have breakthrough bleeding with Yaz , you may want to switch to Yasmin. I would make sure you sit down and read all the literature that comes with your pills, it's a great way to educate yourself and be proactive especially when it comes to your sexual health.
My experience on Yasmin was terrific. I recently switched back
