Thread: Thick discharge from IUD still going after removal

I had an IUD in for about a month. Everything was going ok except I had really gooey, stretchy discharge. I went in to get checked out and I didn't have an infection, it was just how my body adjusted to having the IUD. My cervix was also red and irritated looking. Well I got it out because I didn't want to deal with that discharge and it just didn't feel right for me at this point in my life. The problem is I STILL have the thick discharge. Does anyone else have this problem? Does it go away or am I now stuck like this for life?

I think it is highly unlikely that I am just ovulating because I have had it out for almost a month and I am also breastfeeding. Plus I've never had discharge this thick with ovulation. The last time I had a period was Dec 2006.

I know that the discharge is normal while you have the IUD in. As long as it is white and does not have an oder. It is just how your body adjusts to it for some women. What is getting me is that I had it removed and I still get the stretchy white goo.
