    Default Nuva Ring

Most of what I have heard from others about Nuva Ring has been positive other than someone being annoyed when it kept falling out on her. Just looking for any comments from those who have used it, good or bad.

I used the Nuva Ring for about 3 years. I really liked it. Sometimes toward the end of the month I would have to push it back up a little, but it was the same as using a tampon in that regard. I prefer it because I would never have to remember to take a pill! It only came out a few times during sex and it was never painful at all.
I recommend it. I did have thicker discharge while on it though. That's the only negative for me.

My sisterinlaw used the ring for 2 years than had a severe stroke and almost died. She was young, healthy and now an invalid. There are safer forms of birth control like the diaphram...birth control should not distroy your health........

    jeslynn,
Myself and a few of my friends have found that when we use the ring constantly, that we start to spot all the time. I know it sucks, but I would recommend to not use it 4 weeks on. Seems more convenient to know when your periods are going to come, than to spot the whole month through. Just my $0.02

I use the ring and have had no problems. I switched to Nuva Ring because I kept forgetting my pills, and this way is just more convenient for me.

I'm 29 and used the ring for about 3 years. At first it was wonderful- minimal fuss, light periods, now-husband didn't mind it. At this point I've gained 35 pounds despite being more active and eating better than ever and my cramps start days before my period and never really go away completely. My blood pressure, which was always great, became so elevated they're considering putting me on meds. My sex drive was reduced to about nothing, most of the time I hated being touched even though I love my husband very much. But the worst is the mood swings/depression: asking me what I want for lunch has been known to reduce me to literal tears. It's been so hard on me & my husband I just got a copper IUD to get rid of any artificial hormones. If you go with the ring, be very aware of your feelings, depression and uncontrollable mood swings are recognized side effects and really can happen, even if you have NO prior mental health issues or family history!
