I am a 39 year old mother of two. I just recently had my second child 4 months ago and had my tubes tied (cut & burned) 4weeks after giving birth. My problem is that I have not had a period since then. Is this normal? My doctor wants me to take a pregnancy test, but I am afraid to. I have no pain of any kind and overall I feel great. I also breast feed which I did not do with the first child. Am I worring for nothing?.

I'm surprised that your doctor didn't tell you that breastfeeding can stop your period. It may not return until after you've stopped, though I wasn't so fortunate. Don't be afraid to take that pregnancy test, but ask your doctor about breastfeeding and it's possible affects on menstruation and fertility.
