NuvaRing strikes again!
So, I have been on the ring for about 2 years now, absolutly no problems, until now. I actually want verified right away so I read all this forum has to offer on the ring and peoples problems with it. So here we go..
I popped in my nuvaring may 28, or 27. I only remember it because I was heading to NYC at the time. After about 5 days of having it in I had some pain in my "down under region" while waiting to have it clear up, I drank my weight in cranberry juice and it went away in a few days. I took the nuva ring for about 4-5 Days. I rinsed it off and put it back in. A few hours after doing so, I started discharging dark substance, much like I did before I had my period, and then I removed the Nuva ring again and that continued for about a week. It was so heavy I thought it was my period, but there was a little spotting but mostly this dark goopy substance (which is normal for me to have for the time of perioding) Now I have been nuva free since then. My period which has been constant for the last 6 years of my life, has not come, It was due on the 23rd, now its the 27, and no sign. My boyfriend has been super cool and we have gone with out sex since before I put the ring in. Not saying my sex drive has been demolished.
So being preggers isnt an option.
I think that that bleeding/gunking was when my body got so confused it just threw its hands up decided to do that bleeding for the month. Though I have always had a constant perioding time that I look forward too (its so short its hard to hate it) and now I am just confused out of my mind. Am I going to bleed at that time every month now?
Some answers please!

I think your problem is that you keep taking it out. That's probably confusing your body more than anything. You might have just been having a little spotting with discharge which is normal with BC. I have been using the NuvaRing for a few years and even though I do not have spotting, I do have some discharge sometimes. Talk to your doctor. It doesn't sound serious.

I've been on the ring for about a year and a half myself. And I have to agree with the previous person that its probably because you've been taking it out . Although I would double check with a doctor since it does warn in the reading that infections are more likely ( and its not like you can really use antibacterial in there ) . I hope it works out for you though.
