Secrets of the Abyss

Early this morning,
He texted at last!
Started with a casual "Good morning!"
Which eventually paved
Into him asking for a second date.

Gosh! That was quick!
He didn't wait for that scripted 3-day rule.
He is spontaneous,
Appealing and driven.

I wonder how it would be,
He is the dream guy for me.

Yet, I am rediscovering myself
At the same time,
Is this too soon to get out there n' shine?

I really like him as a person
I hope we can be friends
For now, and see it blossom.

Wishfully thinking,
That one day, I'd wake up
Feeling okay, without pain in my heart.

Willing to try again
Risk, if I must
Love with all my heart.

I hope that I will become
This person that I want to be
For that deserving one
Who is waiting for me.
