Sometimes I sit at night looking at the stars alone
Looking for a bright star that isn’t there
Coldness creeps up upon me and chills set in
Wishing for someone to keep me warm
Thoughts run through my mind like water in a stream

Every drop reminds me of the woman I love
She’s not here beside me for reasons unexplained
Loneliness quietly sits down beside me
I talk to loneliness searching for answers
I ask how come, what happened to us, why feel all the pain

But he doesn’t reply to any of my questions
Still I have no answers
So I get up from the ill where I sat
Wiping those tears that formed that stream
All I can ask of loneliness as I walk away
Is to not visit the woman that left me
