It's been a while but I'll try. It touches on a number of areas that I felt weren't explained fully enough. Yes you need to have dreams or a vision of what you want (goals) it is good to be able to articulate and visualise them. However, that alone is not sufficient to bring them to be, you do have to take action, you do have work at it.
Focusing on something does give it more energy and can bring it about - in some cases - positive and negative. The truth is your brain is pretty simplistic in that it takes what you give it literally, unless you apply conscious reasoning. So if you keep thinking that you could have an accident, it will essentially say, " I can do that" and you may indeed have an accident. That is one perspective.
Another perspective is that pronoia is at work all the time. Pronoia is the opposite of paranoia, it is the belief that the universe is working to shower you with blessings. If you open up to this, it will flow. Problem is that we have been very conditioned to be more open to the negative than to the posiitve.
Increasingly science is finding support for the belief in the interconnectedness of all things. We also know that our minds are limited in what they allow us to percieve. Without getting too complex, essentially our understanding is built in layers with each dependent on relating new things to something we are already familiar with. If we encounter a concept or something too alien our minds may simply fail to "see" it. We do not know how much this limits us, certainly there have been individuals who have accomplished seemingly impossible things. A story in my family, one of my cousins was working under a car and the jack slipped, she was trapped under the vehicle, her chest being crushed. Her mother, who was always in poor health, rushed into the garage and single handedly lifted the vehicle off of her while two of the younger kids pulled their sister out from under. Under normal circumstances my aunt would be doing good to lift a basket of laundry, but she picked that car up - this was not a little one either, she didn't do it thinking it was impossible, she did it thinking only that the car must be moved. What happens when we believe we can and should be able to do such things?
Have you ever had it happen that there was something you didn't think you could do and then someone showed you that it was simpler than you thought? And you could do it? That removed your limiting thoughts. That is what The Secret is really about.
