Thought I'd be honest with everyone.
I work for a show called Champions of Champions Elite on G4TV. It features Muay Thai fighting. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with it.
(edit link)
We're going to be showing last years' Kings Cup TODAY (October 22nd) too:
(edit link)
We're also having a LIVE EVENT tonight in Glendale California with WOMAN Muay Thai champ Roxy "Balboa" Richardson
(edit link)
If you have heard of the show, do you like it? Would you like to see more shows like it? Do you enjoy Muay Thai? Any feedback from you guys would be much appreciated. I'm a real person and, unless I get banned, I will be coming back during work hours to read/answer replies. Thanks!!
To the mods - If you interpret this as spam, by all means delete it/ban me. I apologize if I'm causing trouble.

I am a martial artist and might enjoy seeing it, however I don't think I have that network in my area... never heard of it.
How can you see where you're going if you spend your whole life looking over your shoulder? –Naughty Ninja
Actually, I left it on for two reasons, 1) Soupuss and off course you madam, kristal, love martial arts, boxingMuay Thai is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs" or the "Science Of Eight Limbs" because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight "points of contact", as opposed to "two points" (fists) in Western boxing and "four points" (hands and feet) used in sport-oriented martial arts.
A practitioner of Muay Thai is known as a nak muay. Western practitioners are sometimes called nak muay farang meaning foreign boxer.Muay Thai is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs" or the "Science Of Eight Limbs" because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight "points of contact", as opposed to "two points" (fists) in Western boxing and "four points" (hands and feet) used in sport-oriented martial arts. I'm aware that you and others have been posting the exact words on other Forums...
So regarding the above description, is this something better or the same, as normal matial arts ? As far as perhaps, protection goes... for women? Do you think....

I think martial arts in general are VERY beneficial for women to learn. Stepping out from behind my "mask" for just a moment--I've been involved in martial arts (not Muay Thai though--I was a Kempo student) and when I was attacked in 2003 by a rapist I was not only able to escape, I was able to knock him out. I doubt I would have fared so well had I not learned self-defense.
One of the things I like about Champions of Champions Elite is that it has WOMEN Muay Thai fighters. .
Yes, my co-worker and I (there's only two of us) have been making posts about the show all over the Internet. At first we were told to be sneaky about it, but he and I decided to take a different approach and just be honest--and it seems to be working MUCH better.

I see that you're from Massachusetts. Depending on what "package" you have for you cable/dish/other you might have G4TV already and just ignored it because MOST of the programs on there are completely idiotic (I'm not a fan of the Network)--it's a Network that shows in the US and Canada.
However, if you don't have G4 and are still interested in the show, you can support the show by going to our Official site, and watching our videos. If we get enough hits (and viewers tonight) we might get greenlit for our next project (another Muay Thai show & LIVE FIGHTS around California with professional WMC fighters & local greats). If this happens, our boss said he might change his mind and start letting us put up episodes of COC-E online... But before that can happen, people have to show they're interested. :\
That's a brave story Eve...
You know personally, I think all women should know self defence, the only defence I knew when younger was to hold on for life, so that a 6ft 3 man could not push me in the car, having tried to knock me out and drag me out the back door of a nightclub... Never under estimate the power of inner strength, he couldn't do it...
I imagine that's why in your instance you have such a passion for boxing...
You know, "stepping out from behind your mask". this is actually a good Forum to get involved with..
I'd like to actually know how many people are aware of this particular method of boxing....

Thank you. I don't generally share that story (it doesn't usually come up in conversations!), but it was something that I'll never forget and I was very grateful my parents had enrolled me as a kid... I stuck with it, and even worked as an assistant instructor, up until last year when life finally caught up with me and I no longer had the time (getting engaged, moving, etc.)
I hope people tune in tonight to the show! And, if not, at least you're all aware of another interesting martial arts form... If you look on our Wiki, you can see that the show isn't JUST fights--there's also "tips" and some documentary-style footage on the fighters & the History of Muay Thai. It can be pretty interesting sometimes.
If anyone's interested, I just learned that we've been chosen to air this year's Kings Cup LIVE in North America (a 1st!!) on December 5th. It's going to be Pay Per View for Direct TV, Dish, and On Demand. Should be pretty neat. There was a lot of controversy over who one last year (no spoilers!!) and Thailand is anxious to get their cup back...
