Default Awaiting a colcospohy

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on how to stop worrying!! This is probably an impossible question. I have had an abnormal smear result 8 weeks ago, and they said that it shows severe dysplasia. Its been a long wait, but I'm going to the hospital on the 25th. Has anyone had to wait for so long as a follow up? Is this a good thing. Im hoping if it was really urgent they would have got me in sooner.

The doc also says that they didn't give me a cin classification. I've no idea what that means ? Ive done so well up to now not thinking about it, but today has been really bad. How do I keep positive. I keep telling myself that i have no symptoms , so fingers crossed I will be bale to get it treated and keep an eye on it. That reassurance doesn't last for long ?

a few years ago i was borderline for cervical cancer. I had the laser surgery where they remove all the bad cells and i stopped smoking and it went away.Do you smoke?Smoking seems to make it worse.I went yesterday to have my yearly exam done and I did start back smoking a yr. ago. Im afraid im going to have it again.I dont think it was bad enough for them to do anything right away. They might of wanted to see if it clears up on its own.
I have no idea what a cin classification is.good luck.

hi.
all i can say is acceptance. you have to accept it and read about abnormal paps. the more you read the statistics and information about it. the better you will feel about the likely chances of you having cervical cancer. i know its tough and to keep worrying about it and such; try to get your mind off of it. do some activities and focus on your health and well being. getting educated about it helps a lot. i have had 2 abnormal paps. and so far so good.

also, knowing you aren't the only one going through this helps too. this forum is good and you can find people here that will understand what you are going through.
