Exclamation Is this bad? Please help!

Hi,

I've been on Yaz for the past like 4 months and this past week I noticed two very small lumps on my right breast (I'm 22). They're like two very small pearls ir u will (round and firm). I sometimes feel like they're shrinking but I'm not sure. They're right above my nipple and they're one right next to the other. I already have an appointment with my ob/gyn but it's next week and I really need to know if this small changes can be caused by the Yaz. I mean, I think I had a similar one on my left breast and it disappeared but somehow I am really freaked out about this one.
Anyways my question is, can birth control pills give u small breast lumps that come and go? can this be serious?
Thanks!

Hi emajor, first of all you've done completely the right thing by getting the doctor's appointment. Waiting for the appointment is difficult but worrying your head off between now and then is not going to help anyone.

I can't see anything in the short amount of research I have given this that really answers your question. The only thing I have seen says if you are on the combination pill (like Yaz) and you get a new breast lump you should take it to the doctor as soon as possible, which is what you are doing. At your age this is less likely to be a problem than in somebody my age - but that is no guarantee of anything.

I know it's not particularly helpful but do try not to worry - you are doing completely the right thing and though I can't hand on heart say it isn't serious I do believe it very probably isn't and you will know for sure next week.

Sorry I can't do better than that. Good luck. Let us know how you get on, if you can
