Question Breast cancer treatment confussion

Sadly I come from a cancer family, its not a question of if I will get cancer but when. So I thought I knew a lot about treatments and such.
However a year and a half ago my b/f mother had breast cancer and a brest removed. Before I go any further I should let you know that they are in England, the number one country in all of Europe with the lowest cancer survivour rate After her mastectomy they only did 6 chemo treatments then sent her on her way. I was shocked by this but they seem to think doctors are gods and always right over there. They never question anything.
A few months ago they found out that the original cancer had spread to her back. Then they wasted about 6 weeks doing all sorts of tests to see what kind of treatment to do. The doctors choice was Chemo and Herceptin. She goes twice a month for chemo and twice a month for herceptin. Last week they found out the cancer has spread to her liver and lungs. Breast cancer is about the only cancer I have no experiance of, I know that her chances are becoming very slim now that its moved to the liver and lungs. The doctors say there is still lots they can do...personally when they say that I think they are saying lots to make her comfortable till she dies.

She went for another treatment today and my b/f asked why they were not doing treatments more often and was told its because the body doesnt have time to get used to it. What the ?!? that makes no sense to me.
What I dont understand is why the treatmets are only being done twice a month. Is that normal with breast cancer? In my experiance chemo is usually done at least 3 times a week.

In our lives, we suffer a lot.. We walk through on several trials, that causes us to give up. Sometimes we think life is so unfair because of the hindrance we’ve been through. We struggle a lot to survive, but when things went wrong and everything is gone, we find someone to blame on and ask “why me?”..But things are just not constant, things may come and go, if not today, tommorrow, or never. But we need to value things that comes along our way, looking back the past may serve as our guidance to a new and better path forward..

“Every problem has a gift inside. We seek problems because we want their gifts.”
