Smile Diagnosed With Cervical Cancer Yesterday

I am 29 years old and just a week ago went in and had a biopsy done due to the fact that pap came back abnormal. My doc called me in yesterday (early) and told me that it came back positive for cervical cancer. They are not sure what stage it is at yet. So as soon as they can get me into the main hospital they are going to do the cone biopsy to see if they can remove it all (clear all margins). I am a bit nervous due to the fact that I want to have children still (my husband and i dont have any yet).
As if this isn't bad enough,
my dear mother was diagnosed with thryoid cancer last monday! I was all stressed out for her and than I get this phone call.
I'm am new and naive to cancer (especially cerivcal cancer) if anyone can supply me with info or inspirational stories I'd appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

So sorry, for both you and your Mother, the support to each other though will be like never before, if there is any consulation.

With regards to you, they don't know what stage it is at yet.

I went through this and was advised secondary and they basically numbed me inside and then burnt it all..

I have been clear every since, that was 6 years ago.

I can have, could have had children so don't worry at all in that regard...

Inspiration story?

What about amusing?

I didn't like the biopsy have to be honest, they didn't numb enough when doing it and it hurt like buggery, so be brave enough to tell them to stop, if you feel anything...

When I went afterwards for the "lets get rid of it", I was telling the Doctor how other Doctor's had broken needles in my arm before, as I have a fear of needles, as I am yacking away, (trying to distract myself), he's in fear as he was just in the process of putting a needle right there, inside. Needless to say, once finished, he stopped sweating and panicing and then advised me, to lower my buttocks.

I look down and I had lifted my whole bottom off the table, not even knowing, through my own fear.

That didn't hurt a bit, and can't recall pain persay after, but I can with the biopsy only because they were brutal and as I said, didn't quite wait for the numbing cream to work properly...

Make sure someone is with you and drives you back ,because you will feel strange and a bit wobbly and a little in shock as well, it's such a delicate part of our bodies.

But, you will be fine, I am sure....

Try not to stress too much.

Good luck to the both of you, keep your chins up and be positive.

CW

I had the cone biopsy a year ago and went back just a few weeks ago. The cells had not changed since that time. I will go back again in 6 months. CW is correct make sure someone goes with you to drive you home so you can take it easy the rest of the day.

Until they know what stage you are at try to stay calm. If you smoke stop smoking decreases your immune system. If your immune system is low it will have a harder time repairing the cells in your body. That is what my dr told me to do. Trying to quit hard to do......... working on it.

I passed out after my cone procedure I think cause i was holding my breath lol... When i went this year i told the dr i just wasn't prepared he laughed said it was nothing you could prepare for. He said us women havea much higher pain tolerance and no worries he had men pass out over the use of the word vasectomy and fall out of the chair
