    Default Paranoid about cancer

I am 42 years old and my 56 year old sister is just finishing her final Chemo for breast cancer. I went to have my anual mamogram and I was called back for a second Mamo and an ultra sound. I did my research and it seemed fairly normal. During my ultra sound, they found that I have a lot and I mean a lot of cysts and my right lymph node was swollen. They said it was swollen because I have RA and that the cysts were normal.
Of course the swollen node and my tender breasts are making me all stressed out now. My left arm aches all the time since the mamogram and I just don't feel good. Could they have "popped" one of the cysts and that is what is making my arm ache? (the left breast was the "concerning" one) Should I be more concerned about the lymph node or just let it go and stop complaining?? Thanks for helping.

    Hi Mary,

When someone close to us has a scary decease, it's a wake up to us and from that we can fear.

It's normal to have abnormal lymph node glands in our breasts, the fact that they have said that the cysts were normal, means your OK.

Naturally, you should now continue to have regular check ups and if your concerened over the Cysts or aches, then re-visit the Doctor and tell them what's going on.

I think that we should ask ourselves if it's intuition that we feel? Or fear? ....

Your not complaining, you had a scare through another family member, when in doubt go back and check..

Thank you CW. I think you are right about me being over sensitive because of my sister. I am very good about my anual exams and hopefully they will all be normal from here on!!
