I'm nearly 19 years of age and early this year after a pap test it was discovered I have CIN 1 cervical cancer cells. This passed month I have had bleeding after sex (but it wasn't like the normal period blood) and I had some pain after sex as well.. I also began to get more discharge than usual, this has settled down as I haven't been as sexually active However the change in odour remains the same.. I was tested for STI's and came up clear. The doctor (I've been seeing a bulk billing dr and I have found it to be quite unreliable) said it could be due to my pill but I have been on and off this pill for several years and never had this before. Could this be related to the CIN 1 cells or am I being paranoid? I have to go back to my gyno in December to see if it's cleared up but not sure if I can wait not knowing what's going on..

    Welcome to the Forum Jean...

Firstly, CIN 1, it's good that they can catch these things so early, and it's good that you get pap smears... You have nothing to worry about in that department, even if it goes to level 2, they can eliminate it from going further.. So don't worry too much there.

Bleeding after sex is common, especially if your man is going very deep.. it's rich red, but it doesn't last, pain after sex can be that he is going to fast, too deep, your cervix may be tilted.

The fact that you stopped sex is probably why it has settled down. Tilted cervix's are also common and they don't stay that way, they often can go that way after periods.. so don't have fear that you will always have this problem, but do ask your boyfriend to not go so fast or hard/deep when you feel this.

As for the odor, do you also have any slight swelling, or itchiness?

Bacteria can create thrush.. this will give you more discharge and odor and can be cured by a single tablet or cream from the Chemist.. but also, your boyfriend would have this as well, as so he needs cream.. It is normal and it can be caused by you being dry at the beginning of sex, wearing tight jeans, being allergic to nylon, so therefore, your knickers But it goes back and forth between the pair of you unless you both use cream to get rid of it.

If it doesn't go away after you try this, then it could be a in-correct balance of bacteria in which case you will need to seek Doctor's advice on that subject, BV.
