    Hello all.

My mom has been struggling with some symptoms over the past several months... mainly stomach pain/discomfort/swelling, but also increased urination... She went to her gynecologist and he performed a routine exam, not finding anything wrong.. She then scheduled an appointment with her surgeon (who removed hernias from her a while back) and he sent her for a CT scan and bloodwork. Both came back normal. I just can't help but having ovarian cancer in the back of my mind... Would the gyno have known if something was abnormal with her ovaries when he did the exam? What should I do? I don't want to scare my Mom by suggesting this is what it could be... Thanks.

Unless a doctor says there is cancer, there is no cancer. One cannot concoct symptoms to add up to what they think it is, if it is cancer a doctor will say it is. Reading information on the internet about pain in the stomach can be anything from having gas to cancer. Again only a doctor has the knowledge to say what is going on.
