Exclamation pap smears- do they detect cancer cells?

I try to follow the "rules" and have one done yearly. I am nervous as because I had one done recently and the doctor office called today and said that it was abnormal. They didn't specify how bad it was they want me to come after the holiday to have another pap done. This my second time having one done and it came out abnormal. I had my tubes tied 4 years ago and it seems like I have more problems now then before the surgery. I have pre and post period symptoms. I feel as though my body don't get a break. If there is someone out there that can lead me in the right direction as far as informational web sites to help cope with some of my issues. I recently had a pelvic ultrasound(one of the worst test I ever had to take) and I want to chat with someone that may have went through something similar to what I am dealing with.

Forget the spam below...

I had third degree Cancer there, lucky 6 years have passed and i go regularly to check.

Don't stress they do lazer treatment, burn it all off, and i know that sounds painful but um, they numb it all and well I will make you laugh.

The Doctor had numbed the area, about to put a needle there to ensure no pain, and here i am gabberjaws, telling him how i am frightened to death of needles, that the last Doctor broke one in my arm and meanwhile the poor guy was trying to put the needle there. Well it was numb, i didn't know and all went well.

At the end, though, he said, i quote " put your bottom back down on the table", i looked and i was that stressed i raised myself into position for height if you know what i mean. God i laughed.

What may be scary and painful is a biopsy... Where they have to cut a bit of you to test... That made me cry, i was scared? 36ish? But scared.

Only because there was no talk of it, no explaination and no sympothy.

So, make sure you are aware of all that has to be done so you know first, i didn't, and that your Doctor is caring, " the hospital didn't give a shirt", so you can be okay with it all...

It's un-comfortable for sure, and does hurt for a few days, but pain killers help.

Bottom line is 6 years on, no prob.

Worth every bit of it.

Sometimes i really hate being a woman...

You'll be fine.....
