Smile My right lady.

It's been several months already. My right breast hurts every once in a while. I get a sharp pain ranging from 2 seconds to 2 minutes.. Then it goes away and it comes back whenever it wants. Sometimes it comes back a few seconds later, sometime minutes, hours, or even days. I talked to my mom about this and she suggested I go see a doctor. The only problem is, I will probably be paying for this myself, since we weren't doing too good economically right now. I cannot afford to go to a highly expensive place.. Now my question is; [around] how much would a regular check-up / mammogram cost? I haven't done any research on this yet, but I'll start right here.

Funny thing- ever since I was very young, I've always LOVED supporting the breast cancer awareness programs. Every once in a while I go to this one website and I shop around for shirts, jewelry, little accessories, whatever. May I add, they've got some REALLY cute stuff on there and it's not expensive at all. http://ww3.komen.org/promiseshop/
Anyway, Ive always been a big supporter of it and now I fear for the worst.. I really do need to go see a doctor soon. I'm starting to get to the point where I don't care how much it'll cost.. But then again, I don't have all that money so... We'll see where this goes..

ps- When in need of a good search engine [i.e. google, yahoo, msn, etc]
LookPink | Support Breast Cancer Prevention by Making LookPink.com your Homepage
It donates some everytime people search there. And it searches through yahoo, so you know it's a good engine.

Hi Miss Goddess, i am replying so that it comes up again as a New Post and hope that someone can answer you..

I live in Australia and unfortunatley i can get and have got a mammogram under Medicare it's a Government insurance we all have, so i can't answer the cost factor.

I do get sharp pains though sometimes myself, and i have had my breast checked, pulps or something they called it, and there was nothing i could do about it, it comes and goes, fortunately not very often at all, in fact last time ws 18 months ago.

I check my breasts now ongoing and just look for "larger lump" to the last time i felt it and keep feeling it until it passes, by lifting my arm up and even measure it if need be with a ruler, so that i can see it is the same...

I also support Pink Ribbon through my business, 10% of my money goes to that charity every month.

I hope that at least helps a little and that someone can answer based on where you live, the approx costs of a check up.

Take care

CW

Thanks. I've found a clinic where I'm gonna go to, but I'm not sure of anything at all. I'm getting paid in a few days, so I guess that's where my entire pay check will go. But hey, it'll be worth it! Again, thank you!

That's great, yep working and "spending it on yourself" is rewarding see, you can look at it that way!.

Actually, i thought of you today, due to something else and i was going to double post tonight so i could bring you back up the top again, just in case someone could tell you where you could go.

Think i would have got into trouble? Na....

Best of luck i am sure you will be fine.....
